Pontotoc County Soil Health Field Day

Learn steps for assessing and improving soil health in cropland & pastureland. The morning session covers soil health, with topics including erosion control, improving infiltration, temperature effects, increasing moisture, and benefits of cover crops. The afternoon will cover plant identification for soil health, with specific topics including basic plant anatomy, grassland soil health, and comparing soil health in croplands and grasslands.
Morning & afternoon sessions will be outdoors. Lunch indoors. Water will be available all day.
The field day is hosted by the Pontotoc County Conservation District and Clark Farm.

Directions to Clark Farm: From Ada go Southwest on Hwy 1 to Fitzhugh. Turn south on County Road 3500. Go approximately 5 miles to barn on east side of road. From the North side of Roff go East on County Road 1650 approximately 3.1 miles to County Road 3500. Turn south on County Road 3500 and go approximately 1.25 miles to barn on east side of road.
From Hwy 377/99 (Fittstown) turn west on County Road 1650 and go approximately 8 miles west to County Road 3500. Turn South on County Road 3500 and go approximately 1.25 miles to barn on east side of road.
