On-Farm Composting and Vermicomposting

This presentation by Luke Freeman, from the Oklahoma Beginning Farmer and Rancher Program, discusses the composting options for fertility in market farming/gardening. It defines compost, explains the composting process, reviews reasons for composting and uses of compost, and gives a step-by-step description of how to make compost. It lists types of structures and feedstocks commonly used in composting, and highlights the USDA organic regulations covering composting. It also offers a similar presentation on vermicomposting (composting using worms), and points to resources for further information.
