USDA’s Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production is accepting applications for the Composting and Food Waste Reduction (CFWR) Pilot Project until September 1, 2022.
This program provides financial assistance to municipalities, school districts, counties, local governments, and Tribal governments to develop and test strategies for planning and implementing municipal compost plans and food waste reduction plans. Projects can be located in all community types, including rural, urban, and suburban.
Implementation activities will increase access to compost for agricultural producers, improve soil quality, and encourage innovative, scalable waste management plans that reduce and divert food waste from landfills.
