Monarch Larva Monitoring Project Training
The Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP) team will lead this virtual training to learn how to collect data to contribute to knowledge about the monarch population. Volunteers are critical to informing and inspiring monarch conservation. This session will be relevant for both newcomers and individuals who are already participating in the MLMP or another monarch citizen science project!
During the MLMP training, you will learn about monarch biology, monitoring procedures, and data entry protocols. You will have the opportunity to ask monarch biologists your questions about monarchs and monitoring. Additionally, the training will give you the chance to virtually connect with other volunteers across the country.
The four-hour training will be conducted in two sessions, from 10am – 12pm (CST) and again from 1pm – 3pm (CST). During the break, you will have an opportunity to use your newfound knowledge! The training sessions will be held over Zoom. Instructors are Katie-Lyn Bunney, Rita Morris, and Karen Oberhauser.
Registration will remain open until the class is full.
