Run, so they can fly! The Zoo’s 3rd annual Monarch Madness 5K and one-mile Fun Run is a wild fundraising run benefiting local monarch butterfly conservation.

The officially timed course simulates the 4,000k migration monarchs make from Canada to Mexico for the winter with themed water stops along the trail. The timing of the 5k / Fun Run coincides with the period of time when Monarch butterflies migrate south through Oklahoma to their overwintering grounds in Mexico.

After the run, stay around for the Monarch Festival, which runs from nine to noon, with all its booths, exhibits, activities, and lessons around conservation and pollinators.

To ensure a quality experience for all participants, registration to the 5k and Fun Run is limited to 1,000 people. Each registered participant will receive a t-shirt, timed bib number (5K only), a finisher medal, a mini bag of OKC Zoo Poo organic compost and free general admission into the Zoo.
