Monarchs on the Mountain 2020
Monarchs on the Mountain 2020 is a festival celebrating the vital role eastern Oklahoma plays in the monarch butterfly migration. The year marks the festival’s fifth year celebrating the monarch migration. In 2020, like many other events, it will be slightly different.
The public will be invited to participate in a variety of safe and responsible activities both in person and online. The main events will be held Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M., at numerous locations to be announced on the event page: http://bit.ly/motm-2020 .
Online educational opportunities will be ongoing during the fall migration.
Family groups who wish to participate at a planting site will register with the host organization for a 30 minute timeslot and may purchase plants to donate and plant at that site from native plant vendors or order them in advance. https://www.tulsaaudubon.org/wildlifehabitatgardentour#vendors
Activities will either be educational in nature or engage the attendee in educational activities/crafts pertaining to the overarching theme highlighting the life cycle of the monarch, the great monarch migration, and the diverse native habitats and ecosystems that support it.
Monarchs on the Mountain 2020 is hosted by River Parks Authority in partnership with the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition, the Tulsa Audubon Society, The M.e.t and Monarch Initiative of Tulsa.
