In this free webinar, Rodale Institute research scientist Dr. Madhav Dhakal will discuss integrated weed management tactics in rotational organic no-tillage systems with a focus on cover crop utilization, crop rotation, and diversification in organic row crops and forage systems. Dr. Dhakal’s current research investigates soybean row configurations and plant density, the effect of electrocution on weed dynamics in cover crop-based no-till soybean, and cover crop management in the spring.
Weed control in organic agriculture remains a major and enduring challenge and barrier to organic transition. The traditional way of managing weeds is tillage, but it has several environmental concerns.
