Join master beekeeper Ed Levi for an introduction to beekeeping on Wednesday, October 21 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. CDT on Zoom. Ed served as the Arkansas State Apiary Specialist for over 25 years and has taught beekeepers around the world while also managing his own honeybee hives.

Ed will discuss the following topics:

  • The importance of honeybees and how to protect them
  • How bees work
  • How beekeepers facilitate bees’ work
  • How to get started as a beekeeper

This virtual workshop is free, but registration is required. Register for the Zoom meeting here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online or by phone.

This virtual workshop will include a presentation from Ed Levi with time for Q&A. Please come with questions!

This workshop is supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – Environmental Education Program.

About Ed Levi:
Ed began his beekeeping career in France where he graduated from a college beekeeping program and kept bees for five years in the 1970s. He continued his beekeeping business in Arkansas and became the Apiary Specialist and Inspector for the Arkansas State Plant Board. He is also an EAS Master Beekeeper. While he is still beekeeping, Ed retired from the Plant Board after 26 years. His teaching covers all levels of beekeeping and often involves Integrated Pest Management in bees.
