President’s Note: Monarch Population Status

The most recent monarch numbers are in, and they don’t look good.  There was a 53.22% decrease in the overwintering monarch population in Mexico compared to last year.  The area covered dropped from 6.05 acres to 2.83 acres.

Keep planting milkweed for the spring and summer, and don’t forget fall flowering plants for monarch adults traveling south.
