Pesticides: Safety, Handling, Application
This presentation, from the Oklahoma Beginning Farmer and Rancher Program, discusses the safe handling of pesticides in a market farm setting. The emphasis is on materials allowable under USDA organic regulations, but the presentation is applicable to non-organic operations as well. It covers definition of pesticides, NOP-allowed materials, general vs. restricted pesticides, interpretation of pesticide labels, protective equipment, Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), procedures in case of exposure, application equipment, and storage/disposal.
