$150
leflore county master gardener

LeFlore County OSU Extension is now accepting applications for its inaugural Master Gardener Volunteer Program.

Trainings are on Mondays from 9:30 – 3:00, beginning August 24 and running through November 2. Space is limited, so be sure to apply well before the first class date.

Do you have a passion for gardening? Have you always wanted to learn more about growing vegetables, flowers, trees, pollinators, and landscapes using research-based information?

For the first time ever, LeFlore County OSU Extension is launching its own Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program, and is looking for the founding class of volunteers!

This isn’t just a gardening course. It’s an opportunity to become part of a statewide network of trained volunteers who share research-based horticultural knowledge, assist with educational programs, answer gardening questions, and help Extension serve our communities.

Participants will receive more than 40 hours of hands-on, research-based instruction from Oklahoma State University Extension educators and specialists covering topics such as:
– Vegetable Gardening
– Ornamentals & Flowers
– Trees & Shrubs
– Pollinators
– Fruits & Vegetables
– Soils & Composting
– Plant Diagnostics
…and much more!

Following successful completion of the training, final exam, and volunteer onboarding process, participants will become OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, helping extend university-based horticultural education throughout LeFlore County.

Registration Fee: $150

Enrollment is limited to just 25 participants, so early registration is encouraged.

After submitting your registration, you’ll receive a separate email with instructions to complete the required Oklahoma Extension Volunteer onboarding through ZSuites, including the volunteer application, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and background check.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply eager to learn, be part of this historic first class and help shape the future of the LeFlore County Master Gardener program.
